About the Sterling
What kind of maintenance is required for a steel-and-glass minimalist garage door?
The beauty of a steel garage door is minimal maintenance. Periodically check the seals, hardware, and weather-stripping to keep the door operating smoothly. Wash it occasionally (more frequently if you salt your driveway) to keep it looking great.
Will the tinted infinity glass panels reduce insulation or energy performance?
Sterling doors are built with insulation and maintain a good thermal performance rating (R-value) even with the glass. So you get a stylish, minimalist garage door without sacrificing energy efficiency.
Is the minimalist panel style more vulnerable to dents or damage compared to traditional raised panel garage doors?
No – the panels are heavy duty and constructed with 24-gauge steel and strong two-sided construction. This makes it resistant to dents and deforming, similar to or better than many traditional door styles.
Buying, warranty & service
Can I buy directly from C.H.I.?
All C.H.I. doors, parts and accessories are sold through the network of authorized C.H.I. dealers — like us. We install and service them with the same quality C.H.I. builds them with.
Can I order a custom color?
Yes — C.H.I. offers in-house powder coating in 188 colors, plus color-matching for custom colors. Custom colors may add lead time and cost, and availability varies by model. Ask us for options.
What's the warranty?
C.H.I. doors come with a limited lifetime warranty (coverage varies by model — sections, hardware and springs have their own terms). No registration is needed; claims are handled through your local dealer.
What garage door openers do you offer?
We offer residential openers from LiftMaster and Linear, and can supply, install and service them together with your new door.
Can I finance my door?
Yes — simple financing is available for homeowners. Ask us and we will walk you through the options.
Do you offer wind-load rated doors?
C.H.I. offers a range of wind-load rated products, though it does not currently hold Miami-Dade certification. Ask us about wind-rated options for your area.
Can I paint or touch up my door?
Most doors come pre-finished. You can repaint them, and touch-up paint — matched to Sherwin-Williams formulas — is available for every standard color through your dealer.
